There are many misspellings and mispronunciations when it concerns the name of the island
St. Maarten, St. Martin. By the way, those are the correct and definitive spellings for the Dutch and French sides of
the island respectively. Other ways we’ve seen it spelled are San Maarten, St. Marteen and St. Maarteens among them. In all cases everybody seems to have the double A correct and the rest messed up a bit. Both the Dutch and French pronunciations are identical however.
